Russia has set new conditions for ending the war, demanding that Ukraine withdraw from Donbas within two months.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made the statement during a press briefing at the “Bucha Summit 2026.”
New ultimatum from Russia
According to Zelensky, Russia is communicating these deadlines through the American side. The demand reportedly requires Ukraine to pull its forces out of the eastern part of the country.
“What Russia wants and what some partners are conveying is that they see an end to the war, or to the hot phase of the war, when Ukraine withdraws from the East,” Zelensky said.
This statement highlights continued differences in the positions of the parties, with Ukraine rejecting any conditions that would involve territorial concessions.
