Russia may be preparing another large-scale attack against Ukrainian cities and communities, according to Ukrainian intelligence, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The president announced that he had discussed the situation with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker.
“I informed the chancellor about intelligence data indicating that the Russians are preparing a new massive strike on Ukrainian cities and communities,” Zelensky stated.
He also thanked Austria for its support and solidarity with Ukraine amid continuing Russian air attacks.
“It is extremely important that there are joint responses from partners to these strikes, especially regarding supplies of anti-ballistic defense systems,” the Ukrainian leader stressed.
Later, after reports about the possible new Russian assault, Zelensky held talks with Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
“It is important that all our partners understand what is happening and that Russia continues to rely on missiles and further war instead of diplomatic steps. Above all, this means additional sanctions pressure on Russia is needed, and agreements with partners on air defense must not be delayed in implementation,” Zelensky said.
He added that the discussion with Sybiha focused on urgent tasks for the coming weeks and on measures allies could take to strengthen Ukraine’s defenses.
Meanwhile, Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, urged Ukrainians to pay close attention to air raid alerts in the coming days.
