Ukrainian Defense Forces struck at least three strategic targets inside Russia overnight on June 3, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed.
“Ukraine’s long-range capabilities delivered strong results thanks to the efforts of the Security Service of Ukraine, Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces, military intelligence, and the State Border Guard Service. Important targets on Russian territory were hit overnight,” Zelenskyy said.
Among the targets was the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal, located roughly 1,100 kilometers from Ukraine’s border. The facility is one of Russia’s largest petroleum export hubs in the Baltic region, handling fuel shipments transported by rail, river vessels, and trucks before loading them onto tankers for export.
Ukrainian drones also targeted the naval base in Kronstadt, a key stronghold of the Russian Baltic Fleet guarding approaches to Saint Petersburg. Local authorities reported damage to infrastructure at the site.
In addition, Ukrainian forces struck the Progress defense plant in the city of Michurinsk, located in Russia’s Tambov region nearly 600 kilometers from the front line. The enterprise manufactures components for aircraft and missile control systems, as well as other equipment used by Russia’s defense industry.
The attacks are part of Ukraine’s ongoing campaign to target military, logistical, and industrial facilities that support Russia’s war effort.
