Ukraine’s General Staff has confirmed a series of strikes carried out by the Defense Forces on Russian military and industrial targets, including the Tuapse oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region and multiple high-value military sites in both Russia and temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
According to the statement, Ukrainian forces struck the Tuapse oil refinery on the night of May 27. Following the attack, explosions were reported in the city, and the General Staff confirmed that a fire and heavy smoke were observed at the refinery site. Damage assessments are still ongoing.
The Tuapse refinery is one of the largest oil-processing facilities in southern Russia, with an annual capacity of around 12 million tons of crude oil. It produces fuel that is reportedly supplied, among others, to the Russian military.
The General Staff also confirmed the use of Storm Shadow cruise missiles against automated reconnaissance systems of the Russian Air Force in areas near Voronezh, Taganrog in the Rostov region, and in Sevastopol in occupied Crimea.
Additional strikes were reported on command posts of Russian units in the areas of Tsvitni Pisky and Sorokyne in the Luhansk region. A logistics storage facility in Sorokyne and a drone production site in the Azov area of the Zaporizhzhia region were also hit.
Ukrainian forces further targeted a Nebo-SV radar station near Kamyanka and a command-and-staff vehicle from the Buk-M2 air defense system near Kadiivka in the Luhansk region.
Earlier reports also indicated widespread explosions across occupied Crimea overnight, with drones and missiles targeting multiple Russian military facilities, including the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Air Force and areas near the Belbek, Saky, and Kacha airfields.
